Along the Southport Shoreline

Giclee Art Print

Southport Beach Giclee Art Print celebrates one of Connecticut's most picturesque stretches of coastline. Reproduced from an original oil painting, this museum quality print captures the distinctive light, quiet atmosphere, and timeless beauty that have made Southport Beach a favorite destination along Long Island Sound.

The original painting from which this print is derived was selected for A Connecticut History, a special exhibition at the Lyme Art Association commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The exhibition explores the people, places, and stories that have shaped Connecticut's identity, presenting both traditional and contemporary perspectives on the state's rich heritage.

Printed using archival inks on premium fine art paper, this Southport Beach giclee art print is designed to provide exceptional color and lasting quality for years to come.

Originally known as Mill River Village, Southport developed into an important harbor community during the nineteenth century and officially adopted the name Southport in 1831 as its shipping industry expanded. Situated beside Southport Harbor and Long Island Sound, the village became known for its maritime trade and for the celebrated Southport Globe Onion, which was shipped throughout the country. Today, Southport Beach stretches westward from the harbor toward Sasco Brook and remains one of Fairfield's most scenic coastal landscapes.
