Marconi Beach in Wellfleet is one of the most distinctive stretches of the Cape Cod National Seashore. With its broad Atlantic horizon, expansive sand, and dramatic coastal bluff, the beach has a sense of openness and aliveness next to atlantic ocean.
 
Marconi Beach carries a unique piece of Cape Cod history. The beach takes its name from Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi, whose wireless experiments at the nearby South Wellfleet station helped establish the area as an important site in the early history of radio communication. On January 18, 1903, messages were successfully transmitted between the United States and England, marking an important milestone in transatlantic communication.
