The Coastal Center at Milford Point is one of Connecticut’s beautiful and well maintained coastal locations, where tidal marshes, barrier beaches, migratory birds, and changing shoreline light come together at the mouth of the Housatonic River. This original oil painting captures the atmosphere and calm of the Connecticut Audubon Society sanctuary at Milford Point in the winter, a place known for its sweeping marsh views, observation tower, and connection to Long Island Sound.
 
This painting was inspired by the dedication of the 'birders' or 'twitchers' as they are affectionally known as in the UK, who were busy watching snow buntings and other shoreline birds on a freezing January morning at the Coastal Center in Milford.
